What to send with a dangerous-goods enquiry
- Collection and delivery addresses, contacts and required date.
- UN number, proper shipping name, class/division and packing group where applicable.
- Package count and type, quantity, gross weight and dimensions.
- NEQ and compatibility group for explosives; battery condition and configuration for lithium batteries.
- Material and package details for radioactive consignments, including activity and transport index where applicable.
- Available SDS, transport documents and any ferry or border requirements.
Classification and packaging information should come from the consignor or its competent adviser. An SDS can support an enquiry but does not replace the required transport document. Regulations, operator restrictions and the carrier’s acceptance policy are separate checks.
